The poem Phenomenal Woman, by Maya Angelou, is about the beauty and power than all women have. I thought that the best way to portray that power was by using a painting of the female genitalia. The vagina is the base behind womanhood, pleasure, and most importantly, life. Because the vagina exudes so much power, I thought it fit perfectly with the poem Phenomenal Woman.
